BOOK DISCUSSION: An evening with the DC Public Library. Dec. 9, 2020

More than 140 viewers tuned in virtually on Dec. 9, 2020, when Elizabeth sat down with librarian Maggie Gilmore for a D.C. Public Library discussion and follow-up Q&A about Outpedaling ‘The Big C.’ Ursula Sandstrom, outreach manager for the Washington Area Bicyclist Association also joined the talk.
It was broadcast via Facebook Live. Elizabeth shared stories of her mental, emotional and physical journeys; the process of publishing her first book; and how public libraries fit into the picture. The group also delved into cycling advocacy, safety, and infrastructure as they relate to long-distance trips, and shared some of our favorite books about bicycling for participants to cozy up with in winter when the riding isn’t as easy.
